Smoke Detectors
One of the most important items you can fit in your home is a smoke detector. A smoke detector is well documented to save lives by giving early warning of fire in the home. Fire is probably the biggest nightmare we all face and never hope to deal with. Simply by fitting smoke detectors this nightmare can be avoided.
Battery powered smoke detectors are not expensive but are however battery powered and when the battery runs flat and the detector starts to bleep, most people remove the battery to avoid the constant bleeping and forget about replacing with a new battery. Not everyone does this but this can be avoided by installing hard wired alarms. When they require a battery it has to be replaced or the constant bleeping continues, also hard wired alarms will still provide protection even without the back up battery.
We recommend at least one detector on each floor, where multiple detectors are fitted like on different floors they should be interlinked, this means that if one detector is activated the rest of them will be activated too.
These detectors are normally easily fitted in most properties and are not expensive.
